Our Team

The CannaVision management team, directors, and advisors are comprised of professionals in the areas of law, medicine, agriculture, pharmacology, manufacturing, supply chain, construction, marketing, financial, human resources, and public relations. With decades of combined experience, the team is instrumental in advancing cannabis laws, gaining much needed licensing and making CannaVision a growing enterprise on all fronts. Since 2017, our team has worked alongside local professionals to cultivate Hemp in Puerto Rico and in the U.S. for use in our expanding initiatives. 

David A. Russell  –  President & CEO

For over 32 years, David has served in senior level management and leadership positions focused on building strategic relationships, business development, and corporate strategy.  Through entrepreneurial fortitude, he built a lucrative financial practice and served as the National Association of Insurance & Financial Associates (NAIFA) to advance the insurance and financial services industry in the United States. Basing his life in the service of others, David created several nonprofit companies to create jobs and to provide housing. Most recently, he created iRight Motion Foundation to give positive outdoor experiences to people with disabilities.

Noel Garcia –  Chief Operating Officer

Native of Puerto Rico and graduate of the Inter American University, Noel earned a Masters Degree and has spent the past five years in agricultural development. He is a consultant for the Environmental Quality Board in PR, where he prepares reports for the EPA. Noel is in charge of the CannaVision Puerto Rico farming operation, and is a CBD production researcher.

Dr. William B. Bronson  –  Chief Marketing Officer

Bill has extensive experience in sales and marketing, starting as a stock broker during college. He worked in upper-level management in the mortgage industry and authored a book, “The Mortgage Millionaire,” earning 5 stars at Barnes & Noble. Continuing to build marketing, recruiting, and training skills, Mr. Bronson recruited and trained hundreds of mortgage loan officers as vice president of the largest privately held mortgage company in America. After the 2008 banking crash, he launched a successful legal services firm to save homeowners from foreclosure, and, over the past seven years, helped transform a national insurance field marketing organization into one of the top choices for insurance agents in the U.S. He earned his Doctorate in Business Administration with his dissertation titled, “Training Strategies to Improve Salesperson Confidence and Production.”

James W. Johnson, Jr.  –  Vice President of Business Development – Project Opportunities

Master Sergeant James W. Johnson Jr. (JJ) retired from the Air Force as Detachment 1 Flight Chief and Combat Flight Engineer. As Flight Chief, he mentored an elite flight group of 25, ensuring combat readiness. He has been a course developer, lead instructor, and Officer in Charge of Hematology at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. During his time as Flight Engineer, Sergeant Johnson logged over 1,100 total flight hours, with 553.8 served in combat and 132.7 served in combat support in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom.

Upon retirement, James founded JJGRO Enterprises LLC, where he learned about Industrial Hemp and helped to educate farmers across 23 states.  He’s a co-owner of Active Duty RX, and recently opened Veterans Scientific Laboratories to provide consistent testing services to cannabis growers. James believes in the Air Force Core Values of Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence.

Scott Anders  –  Corporate Finance & Accounting

Scott Anders, CPA, began his career working in both public accounting and private equity. After graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington, Scott set his sights on Federal and International tax services. He then transitioned into private equity accounting for some of the nation’s largest investment banks. Scott holds his Certified Public Accountant license in Texas and has years of experience guiding companies on operational and financial strategies. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA). Scott lives in the Dallas Fort Worth area and is active in his community by serving in many positions for several non-profit organizations in both an executive role and as a board member.

Ana Luna  –  Executive Administrator & Logistics

Ana grew up in Mexico working in her family’s equipment business. After attending a private college, Tecnológico de Monterrey, she moved to the United States and began her path to citizenship. Working her way up to an account manager, supporting insurance agents in both English and Spanish, she gained the confidence and capital to venture out on her own. While balancing her role as mother to three children, Ana built a growing trucking business and serves as Executive Administrator and Logistics Manager for CannaVision.

Rafael Picó Seda –  Master Agronomist

Graduated as an agronomist from the University of Puerto Rico. He began his professional career in the Department of Agriculture where he worked for 25 years, and held multiple positions, where he supervised the offices of Market Inspection, Plant Health, Market Regulation, Agrological Laboratory, Coffee control and others. He was also Assistant Director of the Rural Development Corporation for Puerto Rico and Regional Director of the Department of Agriculture. From 1997 he assumed responsibility for leading the Agricultural Credit Council attached to the Economic Development Bank of Puerto Rico (BDE) and studied banking at the University of North Carolina.

Pico then worked as Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Salinas, Puerto Rico and, in 2011, returned to the government as Principal Assistant to the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico National Parks Company. In 2012 he became the Executive President of Integral Development of the South (DISUR), a non-profit entity that promoted the economic and social development of fifteen municipalities in the Southern Region of Puerto Rico, where the government, private enterprise and academia were integrated linearly. In 2017 he was appointed as Deputy Secretary of the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources of Puerto Rico. Currently, he serves as Consultant and Advisor in areas related to Economic Development.

In addition to his duties with CannaVision, Mr. Russell is a Principal of iRight Benefit Consultants, LLC and spends time promoting iRight Motion, a charitable organization focused on providing outdoor experiences to disabled children and adults. David is passionate about giving.

Dave Hegland

Director

 

Mr. Hegland is a principal investor in CannaVision, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business from Iowa State University, and is part of a large multi-generational farm operating in the Midwest. 

Judge Walter Marrero Melendez

Director

Judge Marrero, a practicing attorney and former criminal court judge in Puerto Rico, has been a cannabis and hemp advocate for over 10 years. He is well connected in the medical cannabis, and hemp, industries and is working with Dr. Ellenby to grow CannaVision’s corporate footprint.

Dennis Markley

Director

 

Mr. Markley, a principal investor in CannaVision, is a commercial and residential real estate developer and investor in Florida. As a Licensed Real Estate Broker, Dennis is active as a consultant and property manager primarily in the Tampa Bay area. He also has the distinct honor of traveling internationally for the World Bank as a management consultant.

Marc Ellenby

Master Agronomy Advisor

 

Marc Ellenby received a Master’s degree in Agriculture and Horticulture from the University of Florida. He owns 190 acres of tropical fruit orchards in Florida, and manages a 75 acre bamboo agro-forestry project in Belize, growing 75 acres of bamboo and perennial tropical crops amidst 1,900 acres of tropical rainforest.

Dr. Herve Mbanya

Pharmacology Advisor

 

Dr. Mbanya received his Doctorate in Pharmacy from Texas Southern University and currently owns a pharmacy in Austin, TX. Dr. Mbanya is passionate about CBD and holistic medicine, believing that it transcends the modern ideals of western medicine.

James Eberhardt

Mr. Eberhardt has an impressive history as a powerful leader and innovator in the technology, insurance, and financial services industries. Currently, he has assembled a team of experts and specialists dedicated to research and development in the hemp industry, focusing on uses and benefits. Jim is the CannaVision investors advisor and serves as the point of contact for new investors.
